This house was our dad’s favourite spot for enjoying Isla de Juan Venado Nature reserve, by boat or kayak. It’s located in Salinas Grande, a calm fishermen’s village about 45 minutes from León. The beach is wide and untouched, and the waves are a bit calmer than at Las Peñitas beach, good for surfing. Salinas Grande is not as developed as Las Peñitas, there are very few tourists, and you will only find few local restaurants and “pulperias”.
The house has 3 rooms; Two with 2 individual beds and one with a matrimonial bed. There is a big balcony outside the rooms where you can camp or hang hammocks. Under the house there is also a big area for relaxing, camping or hanging hammocks. There is a toilet and shower outside the house.
From the beach house we support environmental protection efforts together with the local community. We have a small plantation of mangrove seeds that we will later plant in the nature reserve, and we have also made a rancho where we protect sea turtle eggs, and later when they hatch we will help them on their way to the ocean.
