You have to look long for a more idyllic place than this old volcano crater filled up with water, surrounded by volcanoes and beautiful nature. The lagoon has fresh water where you can take a swim in this peaceful environment.
From the farm where we park the car, it is a 20 minutes hike down to the lagoon. This trip is a perfect combination of wild nature, good exercise and refreshing swimming in the lagoon.
We recommend to do this trip in combination with León Viejo, where you can walk through the ruins of old León and learn about the interesting and tragic history of this UNESCO world heritage site.
